Palmer station has been graced by whales who are returning to spend the summer in Antarctica. They appear to have arrived way earlier than usual. The ice has also melted way faster than before. Rather than think of the dire climate change that is affecting Antarctica, we on station all appreciate the beautiful behemoths that are showing off their feeding skills right by our station. All photos were taken on land at Palmer Station. Photo of me and the whale by Ken Keenan, Station Manager.
